After announcing plans to open its first Massachusetts location in Natick this fall, innovative dining startup Wonder is already cooking up a second Massachusetts location at the Burlington Mall.
According to the Daily Times Chronicle, the company secured three special permits from the Burlington Planning Board, paving the way for a 3,600-square-foot restaurant in the former Sears Tire & Battery building at 85 Middlesex Turnpike.
Founded by CEO Marc Lore in 2018, Wonder started out as a fleet of food trucks delivering freshly prepared meals before transitioning into physical storefronts in 2023. Today, the brand operates over 50 locations across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Rhode Island, with dozens more currently in the works.
Billed as a “new kind of food hall,” Wonder houses multiple restaurant brands under one roof, all cooked in a single kitchen. Guests order through the app, with meals delivered by Wonder drivers, though dine-in and takeout options are also available.
While board members initially raised concerns about potential traffic impacts, Wonder agreed to a 12-month post-opening review to assess circulation and operations, easing the path to approval.
The Burlington Mall location is slated to debut in early 2026, not long after the Natick launch. Once open, it will seat 35 patrons—15 indoors and 20 on the patio.
