A trio of Asian fusion eateries may soon be joined by a fourth location.

According to Boston Restaurant Talk, Ginger Exchange Express is planning a new restaurant at 22 Highland Ave in Somerville, in the space formerly occupied by Highland Market Pizza.

Although owners Kenny and Christine Chan are currently overseas and unavailable for comment, the restaurant’s website confirms that a Somerville location is on the way.

The proposal for the new spot outlines plans to offer a diverse menu including sushi, rice and noodle bowls, Korean fried chicken, and other popular Asian dishes. These offerings mirror those of the existing Ginger Exchange locations, which can be found in Boston’s Mission Hill, Watertown, and Arlington.

“By fostering equity, celebrating cultural diversity, supporting the local economy, and prioritizing sustainability, our restaurant aims to become a cornerstone of Somerville’s cultural and economic landscape,” the proposal states. “We are excited to revitalize this long-standing location and contribute to the vibrant character of the neighborhood while fostering a sense of community for all residents.”
