One of New England’s most beloved artisan candy brands is expanding to Newton.

Hilliards Chocolates will open its fourth shop at 1 Chestnut St, inside a former Bank of America building in the heart of West Newton Village, The Newton Beacon reports. Once it debuts, the 2,476-square-foot location will join the company’s existing stores in North Easton, Norwell, and Mansfield.

Founded in 1924 by Perley and Jessie Hilliard, the business began in Boston with a simple mission: to craft chocolates and candies by hand using only the finest ingredients. That tradition has carried through four generations, and today, sisters Maegan McCarthy Dec and Erin McCarthy Fernandez continue the family legacy.

Hilliards’ menu features a wide range of handcrafted chocolates and specialty candies, including bark, brittle, fudge, fruit-filled confections, truffles, and the brand’s iconic caramel patties, which are known for their buttery caramel, crunchy nuts, and rich chocolate shell.

Seasonal specialties keep things fresh, from summer s’mores kits and ice cream to fall favorites like maple truffles and an impressive array of caramel apples.

Representatives for Hilliards Chocolates could not be reached for comment, and an opening date has not yet been announced. Stay tuned for updates as the West Newton shop prepares to welcome guests.
