A local Indian pop-up and delivery concept is preparing to put down permanent roots in Brighton.
Khau Galli has filed plans to open a fast-casual brick-and-mortar restaurant at 38 Brooks St, according to a Boston hearing board page. The proposed location would span roughly 1,800 square feet and have a “front takeout counter,” though filings note that the ground-floor eatery would operate without on-site customer seating.
Inspired by India’s vibrant street food culture, its looks like owner Siddhey Mahadik launched Khau Galli last year as a pop-up and delivery-only operation. Since then, the business has operated through local pop-ups, student meal plans, and curated Supper Clubs around Greater Boston.
“Khau Galli isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a movement,” reads the eatery’s website. “We bring India’s vibrant street-food energy to Boston’s tables… Each initiative shares one goal to make food a medium of connection and culture.”
Menu offerings featured online include tofu korma, butter chicken, and daal tadka, with an apparent emphasis on comforting, well-balanced dishes. Chai, snacks, and desserts such as bun maska, Irani chai, and rice kheer are also listed.
In addition to Khau Galli, it appears that Mahadik also operates Fulltime Meals, a health-focused meal delivery brand tied to the concept. Marketed as a plant-forward, chef-crafted service, Fulltime Meals offers ready-to-eat bowls like Bombay Quinoa, Spinach Super, and Lean Green Rice.
Mahadik briefly confirmed the Brighton expansion with What Now Boston but has not yet shared additional details about the menu or opening timeline. However, Khau Galli’s Google Business listing indicates plans to operate Tuesday through Sunday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., with split hours on Mondays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and again from 5 to 9 p.m.
