Northampton’s iconic Iron Horse Music Hall is set to make a triumphant return in 2024. After the pandemic forced its closure in 2020, the venue faced an uncertain future. However, the Parlor Room Collective, a nonprofit associated with the nearby Parlor Room performance space, stepped in and is currently reviving the beloved establishment located at 20 Center St.

Led by Executive Director Chris Freeman, the Collective has embarked on a $750,000 capital campaign to fund the venue’s restoration, according to MassLive. The ambitious reopening target of February has been adjusted to May 2024, with significant renovations underway. The addition of a new bar in the adjacent storefront and the inclusion of ten upstairs restrooms promise an enhanced experience for patrons and performers alike.

Additionally, MassLive reported that the venue is collaborating with Dave Schrier, co-owner of Easthampton’s Daily Operation restaurant, to revamp the food menu. While specific changes are in the works, the aim is to amplify Iron Horse’s previous culinary offerings, which included American fare such as burgers, grilled cheese, and onion rings.

As anticipation builds for Iron Horse Music Hall’s reopening, music enthusiasts can look forward to an elevated experience in May. For those eager to contribute to the restoration efforts, visit Iron Horse’s website.
