A submarine sandwich franchise is expanding in Boston.

Jersey Mike’s is set to serve its signature subs in Boston’s West End, taking over the former Bishop’s Mediterranean space at 70 Staniford St. Franchisee Rachid Alaoui confirmed this news with What Now Boston, expressing excitement about the upcoming launch.

Founded in 1956, Jersey Mike’s is known for its made-to-order hot and cold subs and freshly sliced meats, offering options like the classic Jersey Shore’s Favorite, the Famous Philly, the Club Sub, and the Original Italian.

Today, the franchise boasts more than 3,000 locations nationwide, including nearby outlets in Brighton, Bedford, Burlington, Dedham, Newton, Saugus, Stoneham, and Watertown.

The new West End eatery is scheduled to open on April 9, 2025. “Hopefully [the date] sticks,” said Alaoui.
