A multinational submarine sandwich chain is adding another outpost in the Boston area.

Jersey Mike’s Subs is expanding to 675 Massachusetts Ave in Cambridge, according to a recent license commission hearing notice. Franchisee David Martin of Resurgence Investment, LLC confirmed the news with What Now Boston, though he did not share an opening timeline for the 1,780-square-foot eatery.

Founded as Mike’s Subs in 1956, Jersey Mike’s is celebrated for its made-to-order hot and cold subs, featuring fresh vegetables and freshly sliced meats on classic combinations like the Super Sub, Turkey and Provolone, BLT, and Stickball Special.

The franchise operates over 3,000 locations nationwide, with nearby shops in Brighton, Bedford, Burlington, Dedham, Newton, Saugus, Stoneham, Watertown, and Boston’s West End.

Jersey Mike’s Cambridge will seat 16 diners indoors and offer an additional nine seats on a seasonal outdoor patio, operating daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
