A longstanding Italian eatery in Andover is expanding northeast of Boston.
LaRosa’s will soon open a second location in Newburyport’s Market Square, taking over the former Vera Ristorante space at 35 Market Square.
Michael Cammarata, who runs the restaurant alongside his partner and cousin, Paul LaRosa, shared the news in a Facebook update, promising an “elevated full-service Italian dining experience” in the heart of the city.
Since opening LaRosa’s in Andover Center in 2009, Cammarata and LaRosa have steadily expanded their culinary footprint. The duo’s success led to the launch of La Fina and Privé Lounge—Andover’s premier steakhouse and private event space—in November 2019, followed by the upscale Autograph America Tavern in 2023.
Cammarata told What Now Boston that the Newburyport eatery will have a stronger emphasis on seafood, given the city’s coastal location and rich maritime heritage.
“LaRosa’s of Newburyport is a natural next step for us,” he explained on Facebook. “Newburyport is a beautiful, historic town with a thriving dining scene, and we’re excited to introduce our take on authentic Italian cuisine to this community.”
Slated to open in May 2025, LaRosa’s of Newburyport will feature a menu “inspired by classic Italian traditions with a modern twist,” highlighting fresh seafood, house-made pasta, premium cuts of meat, craft cocktails, and an extensive wine selection. Guests can expect a warm, inviting ambiance and “the same commitment to quality that has defined LaRosa’s brand for over 15 years.”
