Life Alive Organic Cafe is expanding with a new Greater Boston location.

According to The Daily Times Chronicle, the predominantly plant-based cafe has received approval from the Planning Board for a special permit to occupy the former Blaze Pizza site at 91 Middlesex Turnpike in Burlington.

Founded in 2004 in Lowell, Life Alive currently operates 10 locations throughout Greater Boston. Two more are set to open soon in Somerville’s Union Square and Jamaica Plain, and the cafe is also launching its first out-of-state location this year in Washington, D.C.

Life Alive’s menu, which is largely vegan, emphasizes scratch-made organic meals prepared to order, featuring grain bowls, salads, wraps, noodle dishes, soups, small plates, açaí bowls, smoothies, and desserts. The eatery is committed to sustainability, utilizing reusable ceramic dishes, compostable to-go packaging, and diligent recycling practices.

The Burlington location is expected to open in spring 2025, with hours from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
