An Ipswich-based roastery and café could be expanding.

Little Wolf Coffee Roasters owners Melissa Bartz and Chris Gatti—who opened the original café in 2017—are looking to launch a second location in South Boston‘s Fort Point neighborhood. The duo is seeking a common victualler’s license, according to a post from the South Boston Beat Facebook page.

At a March 20, 2025 abutters meeting, Bartz shared details about the proposed café, explaining that they plan to establish a small, approximately 200-square-foot coffee bar in the lobby of the office building at 51 Sleeper St. “We are looking to… utilize a current bar setup,” she said.

Little Wolf Coffee’s South Boston location would operate as a takeout-only establishment, accessible to the public through the building’s lobby. The café would be open daily from approximately 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Alongside its signature coffee and espresso drinks, the new location would serve fresh-baked pastries from a local bakery, bottled drinks, and kid-friendly options like hot chocolate and lemonade.

The Little Wolf Coffee proposal is now moving forward in the city’s Licensing Board process.
