A new restaurant from a local chef is planning to debut in a coastal town on the South Shore.

Chef Douglas “Dougie” Rodrigues is gearing up to launch The Salt Marsh Winery in the heart of Scituate, according to Boston Restaurant Talk.

Rodrigues—who also owns Osteria Vivo, an Italian eatery in Pembroke—told What Now Boston that the new restaurant is currently under construction at 17 New Driftway, in the former Rivershed space.

Described as a “New England Bistro,” The Salt Marsh is designed to “celebrate the beauty of the coast,” said Rodrigues in a social media post. Featuring seafood-centric dishes made with the “freshest, peak-season ingredients,” the menu will highlight “local flavors crafted to perfection.”

The Salt Marsh Winery is slated to debut in the spring of 2025. “Join us for a true taste of New England, where coastal charm meets culinary creativity,” said Rodrigues.
