Los Alebrijes Restaurant to Fill Former La Cancun Space

A new Mexican restaurant, Los Alebrijes, is preparing to take over the former site of La Cancun at 192 Sumner St in East Boston. Co-owners Crisoforo Lopez, Roció Rojas, and Gerardo Espinosa, who are also behind Los Agaves in Chelsea, are spearheading this exciting venture.

Inspired by brightly colored Mexican folk art sculptures depicting fantastical creatures, Los Alebrijes promises patrons a vibrant and lively atmosphere, with a menu featuring authentic Mexican dishes. Adding to the excitement, Rojas confirmed that the trio is actively working on securing a liquor license. Eager to share the exciting news, she disclosed that once the license is in hand, she will promptly unveil the opening date.
