A new restaurant is coming to Cambridge’s Porter Square Hotel at 1924 Massachusetts Ave.
First-time restaurateur Rebekah Barr will soon launch Margeaux, Supper Parlor in the space formerly occupied by Colette Wine Bistro, which recently closed.
Barr envisions the restaurant as “a love letter to every meal I’ve had with my friends … too much wine, too much food, my face aching from smiling too much,” according to The Boston Globe.
Drawing from her New Hampshire farm upbringing and her experiences in Memphis and New Orleans, Barr plans to infuse the Margeaux menu with a blend of New England and Southern influences. Guests can anticipate dishes like deviled eggs with fried oysters, maple bourbon steak tips, and shrimp with Boursin grits.
Executive chef Julian Alzate, who boasts experience at Ma Maison, Publico, and the former Colette Wine Bistro, will lead the kitchen. Margeaux will feature a 158-seat dining room and a 30-seat patio. It is slated to open this fall.
