A popular Mission Hill-based diner/café is expanding to Dorchester.
According to the Dorchester Reporter (via a Boston Restaurant Talk report), Milkweed is planning a second location at 1010 Morrissey Blvd, and a business entity search confirms this news.
Co-owned by longtime pals Ben Johnson and Dave Cawley of the iconic, soon-to-be-closed The Blarney Stone, Milkweed offers a vibrant mix of diner-style comfort, brunch favorites, and café culture.
The eatery serves breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, featuring globally inspired comfort dishes like shakshuka, grilled vegetable gyro, buttermilk fried chicken, and sirloin mac and cheese, as well as a variety of trendy cocktails and sweet treats.
When discussing the establishment’s expansion, Johnson told The Dorchester Reporter, “Milkweed, for us, is hopefully the future… It’s a mix of a diner, and brunch spot, and café. It has a brighter vibe.”
An opening date for Milkweed’s second location has not yet been announced, so be sure to stay up-to-date by following the eatery on Facebook and Instagram.
