It looks like a new concept from a local restaurateur may be headed to the Boston waterfront.
1928 Rowes Wharf is hoping to open in the current Pasta Beach space at 30 Rowes Wharf, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. The 5,303-square-foot space includes a main dining area and bar seating indoors, as well as a large outdoor patio with seating for up to 70 patrons.
A Boston licensing page hearing notice reveals that the person behind the new concept is Kristin Jenkins, who also operates 1928 Beacon Hill on Mt Vernon St. While details about the menu at 1928 Rowes Wharf are currently unknown, 1928 Beacon Hill serves classic New England American cuisine like seared day boat scallops, filet mignon, and pan roasted chicken—which may serve as a preview of what’s to come.
It’s unclear if Pasta Beach—which also operates two Rhode Island locations—plans to relocate or close the Boston eatery altogether. What Now Boston has reached out to both Kristin Jenkins and Pasta Beach representatives and will update this page as more information becomes available.
