A new Italian restaurant is headed to Somerville.

According to Boston Restaurant Talk, Anthony’s is planning to open at 156 Highland Ave, taking over the space formerly occupied by Cuisine en Locale. Before Cuisine en Locale, this location was home to historic event venue Anthony’s Function Hall.

A Somerville Times post indicates that Anthony’s Function Too Inc. is behind this venture, suggesting a connection to the former event space. The company is currently seeking licenses for food, drink, and entertainment.

A Boston Restaurant Talk source mentioned that Anthony’s will feature a two-floor layout, including a function space, a self-service pizza window, and live music or DJs.

Owner Anthony Quiles confirmed the development when contacted by What Now Boston. However, he is on vacation and will provide more details in the first week of August 2024. Stay tuned for further updates.
