A new concept from Mazi Food Group is coming to Boston’s South End.

According to Eater Boston, Mazi partners Irakli Gogitidze, George Axiotis, and Jesus Preciado will soon unveil their latest yet-to-be-named venture at 552 Tremont St, in the former site of The Butcher Shop by Barbara Lynch.

Gogitidze told Eater that the all-day eatery will feature bright interiors and gastropub fare. He said that the location is ideal, noting that the Mazi team has been interested in it since 2016.

Mazi Food Group already boasts a successful trio of South End restaurants: ilona, a lively venue offering Mediterranean-style shareable plates; KAVA Neo-Taverna, an intimate spot for sophisticated Greek tapas; and Gigi, a cozy Italian neighborhood eatery.

In addition to the unnamed establishment, Mazi is preparing to launch a new restaurant and listening bar, Desnuda Cocina, in the South End by mid-October. Gogitidze mentioned that the nameless eatery will be the group’s final South End venture, with plans for future concepts in Back Bay and beyond.

Mazi Food Group is aiming to open their new Tremont St spot in late 2024 or early 2025.
