A new Mexican restaurant is headed to Jamaica Plain‘s Hyde Square.

According to a report from Jamaica Plain News, Viva Taco has posted a menu in the window of its building. Formerly home to Across the Border, the 378A Centre St space has experienced frequent turnover in recent years.

Owner Nolber Salguero expressed excitement about his new venture, offering a sneak peek into the restaurant’s offerings.

Viva Taco will feature dishes like carne asada, pollo asado, burritos, nacho plates, empanadas, and a variety of bowls and tacos, with meal prices ranging from $12 to $19.

On June 5, 2024, Viva Taco appeared before the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council Zoning Committee to seek support for a take-out permit. While Salguero hopes to debut the eatery soon, he has not yet set an opening date.
