The trio behind a popular dining and drinking hotspot in Dorchester is cooking up a new venture with a familiar twist.

A company called J.J. & R LLC is planning to open The Mix Vault at 720A Shawmut Avenue in Roxbury, reports Boston Restaurant TalkRufus Faulk, who co-owns The Mix on Talbot Avenue with partners Jarvis Adams and Jean Samedi, is listed as the manager on a Licensing Board notice.

While the team has not yet responded to inquiries from What Now Boston, the notice reveals that the new concept would span 3,000 square feet across two floors. It would feature a speakeasy-style bar tucked behind a “hidden” door, with seating for 25 guests.

If The Mix is any indication of what’s to come, diners can look forward to a menu that blends New England seafood staples with soulful Southern fare, from lobster sliders and mussels to oxtail, grits, and collard greens.

Keep an eye out for updates on The Mix Vault’s progress in Roxbury.
