A New York-based açai shop will soon expand to the South Shore with its second Massachusetts location.

Just one month after opening their first Baya Bar in Weymouth, franchisees Sarah Brandon Quatrale and her husband, Mike, are preparing to open a second outpost in Marshfield. The new shop will take over Unit M at 1899 Ocean St, right next to Cycle Town in The Shops at Ocean’s Gate.

The idea to franchise with Baya Bar was personal for the couple. “I’m a mom of three girls, and it feels like I’ve spent a lifetime driving them from place to place,” Sarah told What Now Boston. “When we started looking at franchises, I was like, ‘I wish I had a healthy option like this for them when they were younger.'”

At Baya Bar, patrons can find a wide variety of açai, pitaya, and coconut bowls, as well as plenty of smoothies, super smoothies, fresh juices, organic cold-pressed juices, booster shots, coffee, oatmeal, and loaded toasts. Sarah’s go-to picks? The Bella Nutella Açai Bowl—topped with banana, strawberry, granola, coconut shavings, and Nutella—and the Watermelon Blast Super Smoothie with vanilla whey protein.

The Brooklyn-born brand was founded in 2016 and has since expanded to nearly 40 locations across New York, Massachusetts, Louisiana, Utah, and Wisconsin, with additional outposts on the way to Florida, Mississippi, and Pennsylvania.

The new Marshfield shop will be cozy—just 800 square feet, a big shift from the couple’s spacious 2,600-square-foot Weymouth store, which happens to be the largest Baya Bar in the country. “There’s going to be a real close-knit community feel,” Sarah said of the Marshfield spot.

Encouraged by the warm welcome in Weymouth, Sarah and Mike are already thinking ahead. “We love seeing how happy it’s making people,” continued Sarah. “We definitely want a third store, and we just want to keep going… It’s a company that we can really grow with. There’s no limit.”

The Marshfield location is currently under construction and slated for an August 2025 debut. In the meantime, fans can get their açai fix at Weymouth’s Pleasant Street Shops.
