According to a posting by the Boston Licensing Board, Painted Plover Provisions Co. is opening in East Boston. The new destination has applied for a common victualler license for the 152-154 Liverpool Street address with Holly Mulone as the manager listed.

Painted Plover Provisions Co. was launched from Mulone’s passion for homemade snacks, bubbly drinks, community and art. According to the website, the concept will be offering seasonally inspired bites like panini sandwiches, salads and sweets, as well as a craft soda bar.

Mulone shared a comment with What Now Boston saying, “We are currently in the permitting stage and waiting for approval from Inspectional services at the City of Boston to be granted our permit to start construction. We are hoping to be open in November, but that’s all in the hands of the city, unfortunately.”

The business aims to bring awareness to endangered shorebirds in the area, specifically the Piping Plovers. This highly threatened species is poised to make a comeback due to rigorous conservation efforts in recent years, and to help facilitate that effort, Painted Plover donates 10% of profits of branded merchandise to Mass Audubon.

Painted Plover Provisions Co. is a sister company of Darling Starling Salon located at 4 Lexington Street.
