A growing açaí bowl franchise will soon open its first two Massachusetts locations.

Oola Bowls is launching two Boston-area açaí shops at 45 Storey Ave in Newburyport‘s Port Plaza and at 330 Market St in MarketStreet Lynnfield, confirmed a representative for the company.

Founded by Joe Ferderbar and Brock Snider in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the original Oola Bowls was launched as a food truck in 2018. Since then, the company has grown to 14 locations across Pennsylvania, with expansion underway in Massachusetts, Florida, and Georgia.

Alongside its nutrient-dense superfruit bowls, Oola serves smoothies, coffee, energy balls, and convenient grab-and-go snacks like granola and nut butters. The brand’s top-selling bowl is the signature Oola Bowl, which features layers of organic açaí, peanut butter, granola, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, chia seeds, coconut, and honey.

The Massachusetts menus will feature several exclusive additions, including special pitaya and açaí blends, a “plethora of new tea and coffee drinks” like strawberry coffee, and a soft serve açaí that the team says is “to die for.”

The Newburyport outpost is scheduled to open in late June 2025, with the Lynnfield location to follow in late July. Both shops will be owned and operated by local families.
