A pair of Mexican eateries with locations in the northern and western suburbs of Boston is growing again.
Plazita Mexico Tacos is opening its third location in the former Hot Chix Halal space at 49 High St in Medford Square, reports Boston Restaurant Talk.
Founded in 2023 by husband-and-wife team Miguel Sánchez Galeana and Caroline Stockbridge, the small-but-mighty taqueria first made its mark in Wakefield before expanding to Watertown in late 2024. Earlier this year, Boston Globe restaurant critic Devra First named the Watertown shop one of the 10 best taco spots in Greater Boston.

The eatery is best known for its authentic birria tacos, handmade tortillas, fresh meats cooked daily, and lineup of housemade salsas. Guests can also expect oversized, crispy sopes, weekend tamales, and classics like burritos, quesadillas, and tortas.
And whatever you do, don’t skip out on dessert—Stockbridge told What Now Boston that customers frequently call Plazita’s flan the best they’ve ever tasted.
The new eatery will offer a small dine-in space with about eight seats, though most orders are expected to be take-out. Plazita Mexico Tacos is slated to open in Medford in early 2026.
