Just weeks ago, What Now Boston covered Boston Halal’s plans for expansion, with two new locations near Northwestern University (opening this week) and in Somerville (now open). Now, the growing chain is preparing for yet another expansion.

Co-owner and CEO of Flying Lion Hospitality Group Koushik “Babu” Koganti said that the gang is gearing up to launch their newest venture at 961 Commonwealth Ave, taking over the former site of Blaze Pizza in Boston University’s West Campus.

Expected to debut within the next couple of months, permits filed with the city indicate a minor interior renovation, with the indoor seating capacity reduced to 40.

Known for its elevated fast-casual Indian-Mediterranean cuisine, Boston Halal currently operates one outlet in Faneuil Hall Marketplace alongside its two newest locations. The menu features a variety of rice bowls customizable with your choice of protein, salad, and sauce. Additionally, the eatery offers halal wraps, sides, desserts, sandwiches, and burgers, as well as a range of vegan and vegetarian options.

Stay tuned for an exact opening date as construction progresses for the new Boston Halal Boston University location.
