Late last spring, What Now Boston reported that South Shore favorite Salty Days Fish Co. would open a second location at the Hingham Shipyard. Now, the seafood spot is expanding again.

The restaurant is taking over the former Ocean House Coastal Grille space at 1899 Ocean St, inside The Shops at Oceans Gate in Marshfield. Ocean House closed its doors on January 24 after two years serving the community.

The Marshfield select board approved the necessary licenses for Salty Days on January 12, and the restaurant is planning a summer 2026 opening. Co-owners Sean and Joanne McDaniel shared their excitement in a social media post.

“Opening a location in Marshfield – our hometown – means so much to us,” they said. “This new restaurant will feature the same great menu you know and love from Cohasset, plus the addition of a full bar.”

Salty Days Fish Co. first opened in Hingham in October 2020, followed by a Cohasset location two years later. While the original Hingham spot closed in September 2023, the Hingham Shipyard location is slated to open in late 2026.

At the new Marshfield location, guests can look forward to Salty Days’ signature sushi alongside a broad seafood-centric menu, including poke bowls, fresh salads, creative rolls, and hearty sandwiches.

“It’s going to be a busy and exciting year, and we couldn’t do it without our incredible customers and dedicated staff,” the McDaniels said. “Thank you for being part of the Salty Days journey; we can’t wait to share what’s next!”
