A group of fast-growing Mexican restaurants is expanding in the northern suburbs of Boston.
Santa Fe Burrito Grill is preparing to open its ninth location at 109 Main St in North Reading, reports Boston Restaurant Talk. The family-owned eatery currently operates outposts in Franklin, Weymouth, Melrose, Acton, East Boston, Malden, Rockland, and Revere.
Owner Hector Angel, who is also behind Mexica Burrito Grill in Tewksbury and Billerica, told What Now Boston that Santa Fe Burrito Grill is centered around quality ingredients, fresh preparation, and affordability.
“We are not a chain,” he emphasized. “We are family-owned, and we make everything from scratch every day… We don’t use freezers; we don’t use frozen foods. We try to be fast, fresh, and affordable.”
The restaurant’s menu features casual Mexican staples served in a lively, family-friendly atmosphere. The North Reading outpost will mirror the brand’s Subway-style build-your-own lineup, allowing guests to customize burritos, bowls, tacos, nachos, and salads.
The new location will offer about 80 seats and, while it won’t include a full bar like the Melrose and Malden spots do, it will serve beer and margaritas over the counter thanks to a liquor license.
Construction has been underway for about a month, and the team expects to welcome guests to the North Reading restaurant in roughly two months, pending final inspections and approvals.
