A Somerville-based Italian-American eatery is looking to expand into Wellesley.

According to The Swellesley Report, Mortadella Head plans to open its doors at 263 Washington St in Wellesley Hills, joining a vibrant strip that includes Marathon Sports, Coconut Thai, and a slew of other businesses.

Co-owners Chuck Sillari and Sebastian Fricia—who regularly go viral on Facebook for their funny, informative cooking videos—founded the Davis Square restaurant in 2018. Along with Paul Malvone, the duo is also behind popular burger chain Boston Burger Company.

Mortadella Head distinguishes itself with a menu crafted from simple ingredients, offering an array of Italian-inspired dishes like pizzas, pastas, subs, salads, and more. The restaurant has even gained a following for its shippable frozen dinners, an elevated take on traditional ready-to-eat meals.

In late May, Sillari mentioned that negotiations for a lease with the landlord were underway, though nothing had been finalized at the time.

“Wellesley’s a really nice community and we think we’d do well there,” Sillari told The Swellesley Report. “We’ve been looking to get out to the ‘burbs, a lot of people we cater to come from outside the city. It will be a good test.”
