A beloved Sicilian-style seafood and pasta restaurant with three local locations is adding a takeout and delivery option in Boston’s North End.

The Daily Catch will soon open its newest eatery in the former Sweet Boba space at 331 Hanover St, as reported by @conciergeboston on Instagram (via Boston Restaurant Talk).

Founded in 1973 by North end native Paul Freddura, the original restaurant, ‘Calamari Café,’ started out as a small “shoebox storefront” in the heart of the North End.

With the help of his wife, Maria, and their seven sons, Paul transformed the humble seafood spot into The Daily Catch, which now boasts locations in the North End, the Seaport District, and Brookline’s Coolidge Corner.

The Daily Catch serves up a variety of seafood dishes including calamari meatballs, clams, mussels, oysters, grilled octopus, shrimp scampi, and swordfish. They also operate an online retail shop with pre-packaged foods, chef kits, and branded merchandise like t-shirts, hats, and pans.

The Fredduras could not be reached for comment, but a sign outside the storefront reveals that the new eatery is set to open in the spring of 2025.
