Two beloved Cambridge establishments, The Dial and Blue Owl, both situated within Sonder 907 Main, have recently shuttered their doors in anticipation of exciting new concepts. The Dial, located at 2 Columbia St, and Blue Owl, positioned on the rooftop of the hotel at 901 Main St, are undergoing transformations.

Despite owner Patrick Barrett declining to provide specific details, he did confirm the development. The Dial announced the closures via Instagram with a heartfelt message:

It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce the permanent closing of The Dial and The Blue Owl. We thank you all for being part of The Dial and Blue Owl community and a part of the diverse neighborhood that gives Central Square it’s unique energy. Together we celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, promotions, pride months and return to office cocktails; whatever the occasion we were grateful that you chose to spend it here with us.

Both The Dial’s and Blue Owl’s websites state that they will be closed for winter 2024, teasing “big things coming soon!” The nature of these “big things” is uncertain, but patrons can anticipate the same artistic flair, crafty cocktails, and delectable dining experiences that the original establishments were known for. Stay tuned for updates as more information becomes available.
