North Shore nightlife is getting a new addition with the opening of The Down Low, a new underground cocktail club bringing a nightlife-driven, Boston-inspired cocktail experience to downtown Woburn. Located beneath 371 Main Street, the subterranean space channels the energy of a backroom supper club, blending cocktails with live music and late-night appeal.

At the heart of the experience is a crafted bar program centered on house-made syrups, infusions, and mixers, with a strong emphasis on seasonal ingredients and mindful sourcing. The cocktail menu takes a precise, technique-driven approach, with each drink built around house-made components and seasonal flavor profiles. Complementing the bar program is a food menu focused on elevated comfort classics, including Detroit-style pizza and smash burgers, alongside live music Wednesday through Sunday.

The cocktail program is led by Curtis McMillan, who serves as Creative Director. A fixture in Boston’s bar scene for more than 20 years, McMillan brings deep industry expertise shaped by roles across spirits, beer, and cocktail culture. His background includes serving as a cocktail judge for the United States Bartenders’ Guild and working with globally recognized brands such as Glenfiddich and Fernet-Branca. He is also the author of The Mischievous Mixologist.

The 2,200-square-foot underground space seats approximately 80 guests, with a total occupancy of 100, and features a mix of bar seating, cocktail tables, and plush velvet booths designed for both intimate nights out and live music.

The Down Low is open Wednesday and Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to midnight, Friday and Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., and Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to midnight. For more information, visit www.downlowbar.com.
