A fast-casual halal franchise will soon open a new location in Boston’s Fenway neighborhood.

According to a licensing board hearing page, The Halal Guys is coming to The Bon by Morro at 1260 Boylston St. The apartment complex will also welcome a new Dave’s Hot Chicken eatery, both spearheaded by the same franchisees.

Founded in 1990, The Halal Guys has grown from a few humble food carts in New York City into an international franchise with over 100 stores spanning the United States, Canada, Indonesia, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.

True to its name, The Halal Guys offers a variety of certified halal fare, including gyro sandwiches, falafel, chicken, assorted platters, baklava, and more.

Jamal Bourote of BGR Hospitality and Imran Asghar—who also oversee multiple Dave’s Hot Chicken eateries in the area, including a recently opened site in South Bay Center—are leading this venture together.

The new 1,515-square-foot location will offer takeout services only, operating from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. While Asghar confirmed this development with What Now Boston, he did not provide an opening date for the upcoming eatery.
