Last summer, What Now Boston reported that a local barbecue spot would be expanding with two new locations. One of those sites is gearing up to open soon, with its exact address now confirmed.
The Smoke Shop BBQ, led by pitmaster/owner Andy Husbands, will launch its fifth location at 151 Pelham St in Methuen. In a recent Facebook announcement, the restaurant revealed that it will open its doors soon and is actively hiring for all front-of-house and back-of-house positions.
Celebrated for its award-winning American-style barbecue, The Smoke Shop showcases Husbands’ 20+ years of competition experience. Beyond the barbecue, the restaurant boasts New England’s largest collection of American whiskeys.
The Smoke Shop BBQ currently operates locations in Somerville’s Assembly Row, Cambridge’s Harvard Square, East Boston, and the Seaport District. Former outposts in Cambridge’s Kendall Square and Boston’s Hub Hall have closed, and plans for a Woburn location appear to have been shelved.
