A local ice cream shop is expanding.

Third Time Ice Cream, the inventive small-batch scoop shop that debuted at Bow Market last fall, is planning a new concept at an undisclosed location in East Somerville, according to Eater Boston.

Founded by Nick Ladin-Sienne—a chef, lawyer, and now ice cream maker—the shop is known for pushing flavor boundaries with seasonal scoops like the Freckled Red Chili Tea—a custard infused with MEM TEA’s red chili tea latte, cacao, ancho chili, vanilla, and cinnamon—and the vegan Amchoor Hour, a tangy mix of dried green mango, persimmon-rose jam, and quick-pickled mango.

The forthcoming eatery will broaden its offerings beyond ice cream, introducing coffee, breakfast, and lunch. For a taste of what’s to come, Third Time is teaming up with Cambridge café and wine bar Tilde for the month of March. Breakfast burritos, salmon sandwiches, mezze plates, and more are on the daytime menu.

Although Ladin-Sienne has not yet responded to inquiries from What Now Boston, his wife, Sari, confirmed the news on social media. “Now more than ever, supporting local spots and building community in shared spaces matters,” she wrote. “It means the world to be creating something special with you all 💖”

It remains unclear if the upcoming shop will keep the name Third Time Ice Cream or rebrand under a different moniker. The new concept is slated to debut in late spring or early summer 2025.
