Two upcoming cafes are shaking things up in the Boston area.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe is gearing up to open new locations at 89 Main St in Stoneham‘s Redstone Shopping Center and at 14-22 McGrath Hwy in Somerville‘s Twin City Plaza.
This double debut is led by first-time franchisees Harry Patel, Dishant Patel, and Lakhvir Singh, who are currently overseeing construction at both sites.
Harry told What Now Boston that each cafe will feature the brand’s signature lineup of real fruit smoothies, along with food options like wraps, flatbreads, bowls, and other fast-casual fare.
Some popular menu items at Tropical Smoothie Cafe include the Island Punch Smoothie, Baja Chicken Bowl, Chipotle Chicken Club Flatbread, and Mixed Berry Greek Yogurt Bowl.
The Stoneham cafe is slated to open in the first or second week of September 2025 and will offer seating for approximately 20 guests in its 2,000-square-foot space. Similar in size, the Somerville location is expected to launch later in the month, with space for around 25 patrons.
Founded in 1997, Tropical Smoothie Cafe has grown to more than 1,350 franchise locations across 44 states, including nearly 20 in Massachusetts. Other local outposts can be found in Downtown Boston, Back Bay, and Brighton.
