A new coffee shop is powering up in downtown Boston.

Up & Atom Coffee Co. is planning to open at 55 Summer St in Downtown Crossing, taking over ground-floor space inside the Genesis lab and office building, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. Genesis is a life sciences-focused real estate platform operated by Phase 3 Real Estate Partners, and the café will serve as a built-in amenity for the building while also welcoming the wider public.

On its website, Genesis describes Up & Atom as “the freshest, premium amenity that defines a new standard in the art of coffee,” envisioning a dynamic café designed for both quick caffeine fixes and lingering conversations. While an exact opening timeline has not yet been announced, the concept is listed as “coming soon.”

It looks like there is an already-open location of Up & Atom at the Genesis Marina Marketplace in Brisbane, California. The menu features classic brewed coffee and espresso drinks, as well as smoothies, sandwiches, baked goods, and a variety of breakfast options.

“Stop by Up & Atom, where science meets flavor in the perfect brew,” reads the Brisbane café’s Google Business page. “Featuring local roaster Ikon, our coffee shop offers expertly crafted drinks, juices, pastries, and grab & go breakfast and lunch options made in-house.”
