The owners of an online Argentine baking business are gearing up to open their first brick-and-mortar location.

Adrienne and Nahuel Palomeque, the husband-and-wife duo behind Valientes Bakery, initially planned to launch a speakeasy-style storefront inside Cambridge’s Thistle & Shamrock market last fall. However, plans fell through due to insurance restrictions on subletting the commercial kitchen.

Now, the couple has a new location in the works. While they’re still finalizing the deal and keeping the address under wraps for now, Adrienne told What Now Boston they hope to secure the spot and share details this spring.

Founded in 2023, Valientes Bakery showcases Nahuel’s pastry expertise—he’s worked at La SaisonVerveine, and other local bakeries. The menu features Argentine specialties like alfajores (dulce de leche sandwich cookies), Rogel cake (crispy pastry layered with dulce de leche and Swiss meringue), and pan dulce, along with ham and cheese sandwiches on medialunas (a brioche-croissant hybrid), empanadas, and other savory bites.

As they prepare to open their storefront, the Palomeques are hosting Argentine empanada-making classes at the Cambridge Foundry on the fourth Friday of each month this spring. Sessions take place on March 28, April 25, May 23, and June 27 from 6-8 p.m. Interested participants can register through Eventbrite.
