A new Mexi-Colombian restaurant and bar will soon debut in Revere.

La Cantina is all set to open its doors at 488 Broadway, taking over the former site of Companions. Owner and chef Juan Preciado—who also owns nearby Colombian restaurant Juan Parrilla Bar & Grill—told What Now Boston that he hopes to welcome guests to the new eatery within the next few weeks, pending routine city inspections.

Preciado envisions La Cantina as a place where patrons can indulge in “authentic flavors” and revel in an “unmatched party” atmosphere. Expect dishes like pollo a la plancha (Colombian-style grilled chicken), tacos, and arepas, complemented by classic, tequila-heavy cocktails like cantaritos and margaritas.

For the latest updates, be sure to follow the forthcoming eatery on Instagram, and get ready for “the most authentic riot” at La Cantina.
