Nearly a year after first hinting at plans for a second home, the team behind Massachusetts’ only natural winery has officially found it—right in the heart of downtown Boston.

Marzae Cellar + Provisions is opening a new retail shop and tasting room at 100 Hanover St, inside Boston Public Market, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. The space will be the market’s largest retail stall and is slated to open in the spring of 2026.

“Opening this spring in our largest retail space, Marzae Cellar + Provisions will bring a vibrant new tasting room to the Market—featuring natural wines, aperitifs, non-alcoholic beverages, and seasonal food rooted in New England’s agricultural traditions,” Boston Public Market shared in an Instagram post welcoming the concept.

Husband-and-wife founders Eliot Martin and Katie Luczai began making wine in 2020, driven by a passion for natural, sustainable wines. In 2023, they opened their Acton winery, tucked into an industrial park off Route 62. Though the space is modest, their wines—and the philosophy behind them—reflect thoughtful craftsmanship and a desire to create experiences that bring people together over food and drink.

The forthcoming Boston Public Market location expands that vision into a more public-facing, community-oriented setting. The tasting room will showcase Marzae’s full lineup of natural wines and aperitifs alongside the debut of Off Piste Ferments, the brand’s new non-alcoholic beverage line. Guests can also expect what the team confidently describes as “the best mocktail list in Boston.”

Food will play an equally central role. The menu is designed to be seasonal, zero-waste, and preservation-focused, drawing from New England growers and producers. Offerings will be available for lunch and dinner, with brunch service planned for weekends.

Beyond casual sipping and snacking, Marzae will introduce The Kitchen Counter, an intimate, reservation-only dining experience highlighting regional ingredients and thoughtful pairings. The setup includes a 14-seat kitchen counter bar and a 10-seat mid-century-inspired lounge, open Wednesday through Sunday evenings from 5 p.m. to close. Diners can choose from à la carte options or tasting menus shaped by “the best fresh and preserved local ingredients available,” according to Marzae’s website.

The retail side of the concept leans into Marzae’s goal of helping Boston Public Market become a true neighborhood grocer for curated local goods. Shoppers will find Marzae wines, aperitifs, Off Piste Ferments, branded merchandise, and refillable $5 growlers, with discounts on draft refills. The shelves will also feature a rotating selection of New England cheeses, charcuterie, craft pantry items, and artisanal home goods from local producers.

Marzae is also offering limited-time crowdfunding gift cards to help get Cellar + Provisions open and their vineyard planted this spring, with perks ranging from credit toward purchases to tickets to their friends-and-family soft opening and exclusive wine releases.
