Monos, the Canadian travel and lifestyle brand known for its minimalist design and sustainable focus, will open its first U.S. store on Boston’s Newbury Street, today. The 3,500-square-foot space will mark Monos’ official entry into the U.S. retail market, joining its existing Canadian locations.

Monos Debuts in the U.S.

Founded in 2018, Monos has grown into a global favorite, now selling in 56 countries with a suitcase purchased every 10 minutes. The Canada-based brand started its in-person retail experience with stores in Vancouver and Toronto. The move into the U.S. marks an important milestone in the brand’s global expansion.

Monos will officially open its first U.S. store at 136 Newbury Street in Boston at 10 a.m. today, bringing its minimalist design and commitment to mindful travel to the American retail landscape.

“This next chapter is about deepening our connection with customers,” said Victor Tam, Co-founder and CEO of Monos. “Each store is more than a place to shop—it’s a physical expression of our brand, where people can engage with our products, our values, and our story in person. These spaces are designed to become community touchpoints that inspire travel.”

Inside the Newbury Street Store

The new store is inspired by the coastal retreats, evoking the quiet spirit of New England through a warm, tactile palette of cedar wood, clay tile, and sand-hued plaster. It spans 3,500 sq ft and offers a full collection of luggage and travel accessories. Monos will also offer in-person repairs and personalization services.

The Boston store will welcome customers with a weekend of special promotions. Shoppers can enjoy complimentary iced oat lattes from BigFace, along with a gift with purchase for anyone spending $300 or more.

In collaboration with SEEN LIBRARY, Monos will offer customers a selection of beautifully wrapped books with a vegan leather bookmark – a nod to New England’s literary history.

The Newbury Street store is the first of several U.S. locations slated to open this fall, with additional openings planned in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, and Washington, D.C. The shift to physical retail marks a move beyond Monos’ digital-first roots, bringing the brand closer to its U.S. customers.
