Two subsidiaries under Reimagined Parking are closing soon. The closure will lead to the layoff of over 180 employees in Charlotte. The employees are not part of a union and do not have bumping rights.

Two Entities Under Reimagined Parking Filed a WARN Notice

According to a recent WARN notice filing, two Reimagined Parking subsidiaries plan to cease operations at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. AmeriPark LLC and Republic Parking System have alerted the state of the massive layoff, which will affect the employees. The notice provides employees with a 60-day advance notification period.

The WARN notice indicates that 188 employees will be laid off. The company was contracted as a parking operator at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

The employees are not part of a union and do not have bumping rights.

Reason for the Layoff

AmeriPark LLC and Republic Parking System were contracted by Charlotte Douglas International Airport. They would handle the parking operations at the airport. However, the two entities lost their contract with the airport, which resulted in the WARN notice.

A new parking operator will replace Reimagined Parking’s subsidiaries. The employees affected by the layoff may be rehired by the new company. However, the change in management will result in most employees losing their jobs.

About Reimagined Parking

Reimagined Parking is a parking management company that operates and manages parking facilities. It provides services to airports, hotels, and commercial properties. The company is the parent of brands including Impark, Lanier Parking, Republic Parking, AmeriPark, and Park One.

The layoffs stem from a change in the parking management at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, rather than a full business closure. A new operator will take over the management of the airport parking. However, the transition leaves many employees facing job uncertainty, with only some potentially finding roles under the new company.
