Wake Forest-based Paul & Jack Bakery & Cafe is expanding to Cary, with plans to open this summer in a 1,530-square-feet space at 1881 Lake Pine Drive, according to reporting by the Triangle Business Journal.

Owner and pastry chef Jacques Matar started his business alongside his wife Alina in 2023 after moving to the U.S. Matar has been a pastry chef since 2015, and they sell pastries and artisan and craft desserts at Paul & Jack Bakery.

The bakery now has two locations open: the original in Wake Forest and a second that recently opened in Raleigh in the former home of Layered Croissanterie.

In a phone call with What Now Charlotte, Matar briefly confirmed the expansion to Cary, though he was not immediately available to provide further comment on the new location.

Paul & Jack Bakery will join nearby restaurants in Cary, including a forthcoming Cape Fear Seafood Company location, Vietnamese spot Bee BanhMi and La Cocina Mexican Restaurant.
