Beat The Bomb, the world’s first interactive social video game company, has announced plans to expand throughout the country, including a site in Charlotte.
The Brooklyn-based company, owned by CEO and founder Alex Patterson, recently raised a $15M Series B to expand across the United States, with locations planned for Philadelphia, Charlotte, Denver, Houston, and more, according to a press release. Philadelphia is expected to open first in the Summer of 2024, with the other locations following. When the Charlotte location opens, customers can expect a one-of-a-kind escape room experience/ entertainment venue.
Beat The Bomb’s state-of-the-art 10,000 sq ft locations feature two different experiences: Mission and Game Bay. The former features a 1-hour Beat The Bomb Game, where teams of 4-6 players choose from a Paint Bomb Mission or Foam Bomb Mission, put on hazmat suits, and step into a series of interactive video game rooms to test different skills. In the fifth and final room, teams attempt to disarm The Bomb before their timer runs out. Failure means getting blasted.
Beat the Bomb’s Game Bat doesn’t feature any suits or blast endings, but it does feature an arcade lounge with access to food and drinks from The Bomb Bar. This futuristic full-service bar serves signature cocktails, slushies, and casual favorites such as nachos, pizzas, sliders, hot dogs, and salads. Each Game Bay is a 150-square-foot, 3-walled gaming zone where players can select from dozens of shorter interactive social games that include team vs. team and free-for-all formats.
“Beat The Bomb is using real-world video games to reimagine the future of social entertainment,” Patterson said in a press release. “Since 2017, we have turned hi-tech digital rooms, multiplayer games, and incredible special effects endings into one of the most memorable group activities in the world. Over 500,000 friends, families, students, and co-workers have now visited our locations, which have been featured on NBC’s Today Show, ABC, FOX5, and The Real Housewives of Atlanta. This fundraising will allow us to expand to an additional seven cities by mid-2025, on our way to bringing Beat The Bomb to 100 cities and millions of people a year globally by 2030.”
