Lake Norman’s upscale nightspot, Bin 110, is getting ready to temporarily close its doors at 19712 One Norman Blvd. Suite 110 so it can expand next door.

Bin 110 is the brainchild of Andy and Tallie Upchurch, who opened the upscale night spot in 2017. Now, the couple is getting ready to close its doors to expand to the space next door, which will nearly triple the bar’s occupancy, going from six tables inside to 15-20 tables, according to the Charlotte Observer. The expansion will also allow the restaurant to add new bathrooms, expand the kitchen, and have more entertainment space.

“The talent here is crazy good,” Upchurch tells Charlotte Observer. “We’ll have more space for the entertainers and be able to bring in fuller-sized bands. We’re adding a sound system to increase the quality and will put up acoustic panels so we can have great live music, but you’ll still be able to have a conversation.”

While Bin 110 will remain open for now, the owners plan to close its doors after Thanksgiving for about 4-6 weeks to connect the spaces. The Upchurches plan to reopen in January 2024, expanding the space from 1,500 square feet to 2,500. The expansion will also allow the bar to offer more food options, including brunch on the weekends and various flatbreads. Bin 110 currently only offers small bites.

“We’re most proud of our customer service,” Upchurch said. “I train the staff, and I’ve certified 300 people [as bourbon stewards]. “I love what we’re doing. We’re happy to do it here — it’s nice to be able to stay in the bubble and not have to drive 25 miles (to Charlotte) to do it.”
