Triad-based Blue Skies Creamery is making the jump from food truck to brick-and-mortar for their ice cream brand. The spot will open at 116 N. Main St. in Kernersville and the team is targeting an opening by the end of April, co-owner Bret Biance told What Now Charlotte.

Biance and Alan Hamaoui are behind the brand and have been working toward a brick-and-mortar since the birth of the brand.

“The community has been really supportive in Kernersville and we felt like we wanted to provide them with another homemade ice cream option here in the Triad,” Biance said. “There aren’t very many of them, and Kernersville felt like home from the beginning.”

Blue Skies Creamery aims to offer a homemade craft ice cream parlor for the community. They aim to offer flavors that are “familiar with a twist,” meaning they avoid traditional flavors and instead offer unique takes on different flavors and textures. They also offer themed series such as their Around the World series, which converts desserts from different countries into an ice cream flavor. They aim to add a new ice cream flavor to the menu each month.

“The goal is that every time you visit us, there’s a new ice cream to try,” Biance said.

Ultimately, the team wants to build up the brand to about four locations so they can leave a legacy for their children. The new location will allow them to begin to expand production.
