A brand new pickleball court and social-dining experience called Camp Pickle appear to be making its way to NoDa, located within The Pass.
The new summer camp-themed concept will have 50,000 square feet of indoor space accompanied by an additional 22,000 square feet of outdoor space, according to Jason Thomas. Camp Pickle is expected to be a part of The Pass’ second phase, meaning pickleball fans will likely have to wait a few years before this opens. When it does, customers can expect food, tons of courts, duck pin bowling, a full bar, and more.
The concept comes from the founder of Punch Bowl Social, Robert Thompson. He set off on this new venture when he realized pickleball was growing in popularity and wanted to bring adults back to that nostalgic summer camp feeling. Camp Pickle expects to debut in Huntsville, AL, in 2024, followed by two sites in Colorado. The company is also actively scouting sites for a new location in Atlanta, What Now previously reported. Other areas reportedly in the works include Austin, Dallas, Nashville, New Orleans, and Indianapolis. Camp Pickle is headquartered in Huntsville.
This isn’t the only concept Thompson is working on. The entrepreneur will also open a new bar concept called Jaguar Bolera in Raleigh later this year, according to Axios. The new concept will feature duckpin bowling and other activities within the upcoming Iron Works development. Thompson also plans to bring the concept to New Orleans sometime next year. Whether it’s Camp Pickle or Jaguar Bolera, guests will be guaranteed to have a great time at these new concepts.
