National chain Capital Tacos is set to open its first North Carolina storefronts in Charlotte, starting with a new location in Mallard Creek at 1823 E Arbors Dr.

The Florida-based company’s first Charlotte location is set to open on July 14 and will offer a limited-time local special, “The Pimentadilla,” to celebrate entering this market, according to the Charlotte Observer. Following this, Capital Tacos will open in the Cotswold Village Shopping Center at 282 S Sharon Amity Road in Fall 2023. Both locations will be corporate-owned. The family-friendly Mexican restaurant franchises nationwide and is working on its first location in Jacksonville.

When these two locations open later this year, customers can expect award-winning tacos and inventive flavors. The menu features starters, such as queso bites and elote, as well as other Mexican classics, such as nachos and monster quesadillas. Capital Tacos also offers a handful of flavor profiles that can be customized into a burrito, taco, or bowl. An example of their flavors is the West Coast special, featuring grilled tiger shrimp tossed in a rice wine vinegar glaze with spicy slaw, chihuahua cheese, cilantro, chipotle ranch, and a lime wedge.

“Capital Tacos was born from a quest to deliver one thing — unique and heavenly Tex-Mex flavor — to your taste buds,” according to the company’s website. “We’ve been at it a few years. But this journey has really only begun. Our menu is crafted by chefs who dream more of your next taco than their next vacation. They’re out of bed and prepping in our scratch kitchen before you (or the sun) are even up. Here at Capital, we don’t take shortcuts.”
