Mooresville modern Mexican restaurant Casa Azteca is expanding for the first time. It will open at 129 West Trade St. in the space formerly home to King’s Kitchen.

The Instagram page for the forthcoming location includes plans for fresh ingredients and signature cocktails.

Casa Azteca comes from Azteca & Don Pedro Group LLC, which operates Mexican restaurants throughout the area. Casa Azteca opened in Mooresville last year, serving items such as fajitas, quesadillas, burritos, tacos and salads.

A spokesperson with the restaurant group confirmed plans for the forthcoming location in Uptown with What Now Charlotte but was not immediately available to provide further details.

The spot is still in the early stages of development and no opening timeline has been announced.
