The former Good Wurst space at 3001 Central Ave. in Plaza Midwood has an old tenant bringing a new concept to the 2,000-square-foot spot. Lincoln Clark, the original founder of The Good Wurst Co., is heading back to his original location with new concept Clark’s Snack Bar.
The Good Wurst Co. closed its Plaza Midwood site in January after its other two locations in Charlotte shuttered in 2024. Clark had originally opened The Good Wurst in Plaza Midwood in 2020 and later sold his stake in the business.
“I was fortunate enough to get my original location back when [the new owner] went out of business,” Clark told What Now Charlotte. “That’s how Clark’s is coming about.”
Clark’s Snack Bar will be similar to The Good Wurst Co., but it will have an upgraded indoor space and an expanded menu, including more sandwiches and a larger breakfast menu.
The spot will serve sandwiches, frankfurters, bratwurst, sausage, homemade fries, pastrami and homemade sauces. Clark plans to serve breakfast only on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Clark said he is hoping to open in the spring, ideally by the end of March.
“I love the people in this neighborhood and this whole city,” Clark said. “Everyone around me was so supportive when I originally opened. It’s a great community and I look forward to putting out high-quality products.”
