Coffee Republic is getting ready to expand within Charlotte again, this time opening a new location on the ground floor of Northwood Ravin’s 500 West Trade.

The Washington D.C.-based coffee company recently snagged a 2,112-square-foot space within the 15-story multifamily project in Uptown’s Fourth Ward, according to Charlotte Business Journal. Two retail spaces remain available at 500 West Trade, including a 3,305-square-foot space with a connected patio at the corner of Trade and Graham Streets and a nearly 3,200-square-foot location facing Graham Street. There is no exact opening date for the new location.

This will be the company’s sixth site within the Charlotte area, following existing sites in Ballantyne, Denver, Mooresville, Huntersville, and Cornelius. The company, led by owners Sean and Kalea Flynn, launched in 2004 from Washington, D.C., and has since expanded to three locations in the area, including near the White House, Georgetown, and Rockville, Maryland. Lauren Faulkenberry and Melissa McDonald with Providence Group represented the landlord on the lease and said the last two available spaces would be ideal for a food and beverage concept and a service use concept, such as a fitness, health, beauty, or wellness brand.

“At Coffee Republic, we’re taking it to another level – combining the care for quality of the Third Wave with the desire for uniqueness and creativity of this new Fourth Wave,” according to the company’s website. “Whether you’re in for a seriously good espresso or an iced sweet treat, there is something for everyone! Our mission is to provide a unique coffee experience that enriches people’s lives through the art of exceptional coffee and the community that it brings.
