The team behind Customshop in Elizabeth is opening its new concept, Marina’s Tapas, soon at Optimist Hall. There is no opening date set as of yet, but it appears that the food stall will open late this summer or this fall at 1115 North Brevard Street. It will be located between Village Juice and Boxcar Betty’s.

The new restaurant concept, created by co-owners Andres Kaifer and Alex Bridges, is a nod to Kaifer’s Spanish roots.

Its menu will be inspired by his great-grandmother and his family recipes. The team has teased menu items like tortilla española (Spanish omelet), albondigas (meatballs with spiced tomato sauce) and croquetas.

The concept is much different from Customshop, which features a mixture of cuisines. Menu items include duck breast, empanadas, burrata, seafood and pasta dishes. The restaurant highlights locally sourced ingredients and looks to put a unique spin on known dishes.

Marina’s Tapas is currently in the construction phase. What Now Charlotte has reached out to the Customshop team for more information on the new spot. Stay tuned for updates on the upcoming location.
